Build your capacity to lead your institution’s learning and teaching strategy The Leaders in Learning & Teaching Development Programme (LLT) helps those who are preparing for, or aspiring to, lead, manage and deliver their institution's learning & teaching strategy. Participants will gain a better understanding of the complexities of the role, build their leadership capacity, develop their research and practise profile and explore approaches to developing and implementing learning & teaching enhancement strategies. LLT is a well-established and well-regarded learning and development programme for senior business school faculty. The sessions are a mixture of preparation, information, interaction and discussion. The topics and guest speakers will provoke reflection, thought and action, and the emphasis will be on collaboration and problem solving. The course aims to build school capacity through: Developing SENCo and English Lead knowledge of dyslexia Exploring appropriate assessment and target-setting approaches Developing effective whole-class strategies through high-quality teaching Coordinating SpLD (dyslexia) provision within school, including the use of appropriate interventions Managing parental and pupil concerns relating to dyslexia Day 1: Thursday 15th October 9:00am to 3:30pm · UK Definition of Dyslexia (New Delphi 2025) Early identification and assessment: formative and summative tools to support schools in identifying pupils with a dyslexic profile and informing reasonable adjustments and provision Exploring the impact of dyslexia on children and young people (CYP) Using assessment information to inform planning and next steps GAP TASK - Assessment Day 2: Thursday 5th November, 9:00am to 3:30pm Dyslexia-Friendly Classrooms: effective high-quality adaptations and the removal of barriers to learning An introduction to targeted and personalised interventions Developing policy and practice, including whole-school ethos and working with parents and external agencies Delegates will receive a toolkit to support implementation of learning and the development of ongoing good practice within school. An audit tool will be used throughout the course to help identify key actions for delegates to take forward on their return to school. Following attendance on both days, delegates will also be given access to CPD materials suitable for a staff meeting. Outcomes Through this training, delegates will: Understand current definitions of dyslexia Use current assessment approaches to support the identification of pupils with SpLD (dyslexia) Understand how to remove barriers so pupils with a profile of dyslexia thrive Use the toolkit to audit current provision and develop an action plan to strengthen capacity and support for pupils with SpLD (dyslexia)

Building and Strengthening Relationships Through Peace Circles This immersive session introduces primary school staff to Peacemakers’ interactive approach to circle time. It introduces circle pedagogy, inclusive activities, explores ways to support social and emotional development, and turns learning into practical, purposeful action. Through our work in hundreds of primary schools, we've learned that it's not just what you teach – it's how you teach it. Peace education delivered in an authoritarian way would undermine its own message. What's needed instead are participative, democratic approaches where children and adults genuinely share the space. Circles are central to our practice. Used by communities across cultures for centuries, circle time creates a space where every voice is heard — including those of quieter or more marginalised children. Passing a talking piece around the circle ensures no one is talked over. Circles can balance power, build empathy, and shift the classroom dynamic in ways that ripple out into the rest of the school day. Within a circle, there's room for games, role play, group and paired discussion, and drama — approaches that children find engaging and memorable. The content of peace education doesn't have to feel worthy or heavy. Done well, it's fun.

How can trusts help every child access great cultural education? Join us to explore solutions and shape the future. We are inviting trusts, funders, cultural institutions, higher education providers and brokers together to explore how we can leverage the role of trusts can play in securing more equitable access to arts and cultural education. All children deserve access to enriching, high-quality cultural education with the curriculum and in enrichment. A group of schools working together in a trust have a much greater potential to unlock great breadth and depth within and beyond the curriculum and provide the capacity to manage external partnerships. We believe when utilised effectively, a trust model can lead to greater variety, equity and quality of provision whilst still supporting school's individual needs. The areas we will cover are outlined below, but to ensure a truly collaborative event, we would like your input to help shape the day.
