Critical Inspection Stages - Exploration of Post Inspection Process within Renewed Framework
Led by Maria Navarro, former Senior Specialist Adviser at Ofsted, key architect in the development of the renewed inspection framework, this series examines the critical stages of an Ofsted inspection under the renewed framework, including the revisions in place from September 2026. This is a comprehensive series across 3 events. From the notification call and planning week through inspection activity and post‑inspection outcomes, it explores how decisions, evidence‑gathering, and professional judgement at each stage shape direction, impact, and final judgements. In our third session we will delve into Ofsted's post-inspection process under the renewed framework. This session will cover: Implications for providers receiving “Needs Attention” or “Urgent Improvement” grades. Understanding Ofsted's contact with providers post inspection. Delving into the new monitoring inspection and re-grading profile process. Starting the preparation process for monitoring inspection. Opportunities for delegates to ask questions throughout the session. Delegates will gain: Ability to confidently navigate Ofsted’s changes to the post-inspection process. Understanding of how to maintain productive contact with inspectors post inspection. Clear insights into the new monitoring inspection and re-grading process. Knowledge in how to start planning improvement strategies in readiness for the monitoring inspection. This session is aimed at nominees, shadow nominees, senior leaders and managers who might take part in the inspection planning call or represent the provision during the inspection, including quality managers.
