In this comprehensive on-line training, we will break down the key components of school finance and provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to navigate this critical area effectively. This course begins with back to basics information to support the Headteacher and School Business Leader to develop the necessary skills to analyse and evaluate financial information and prepare the correct level of information for the governing body. We then move on to look at strategies and best practice to maximise efficiencies and either prevent schools going into deficit or bring a school back to a neutral financial position by developing a financial recovery plan.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Interpret the key components of the new framework. Participants will gain clarity on the structure, methodology and assessment criteria and receive practical strategies for preparing the senior leadership team and governors.

We support teachers, leaders and support staff in developing their consciousness of psychological safety to become more confident and competent in intentionally creating spaces for everybody to flourish and thrive. A psychologically safe environment is one which allows people to take interpersonal risks without fear of negative consequences, such as social exclusion or judgement. For example, if a child feels psychologically safe in class with their peers and teachers, then they are more likely to ask for help, to share their ideas, ask questions, or admit they don’t understand something. They are more likely to try, knowing it’s okay to fail. They will still be accepted, even if they make mistakes. This has obvious benefits for individual learning, and the rest of the class who have the potential to learn from others’ questions and ideas. We will explore how we can ascertain existing levels of psychological safety and how we can embed it into our classroom and workplace culture.

The course will look at the legal framework surrounding EHCPs and will consider: • what makes an EHCP effective; • what a placement consultation should look like; and • how unlawful or unreasonable decisions can be challenged. Throughout the course, participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions and will receive practical guidance on how to navigate the EHCP minefield. Aims By the end of the session participants will: • Understand the requirements for specificity in Education, Health and Care Plans; • Be clear on the legal timescales relating to EHCP consultations and amendments; • Be able to prepare a robust response to consultation; and • Be able to confidently challenge unlawful or unreasonable decision making.
